What does the word Muse mean to you?

Muse, to me, means creative inspo!

What is one word you would use to describe your approach to dressing?

Experimental - getting dressed isn't that serious, but it's seriously fun. Why not try every trend, color, texture, and silhouette under the sun?

As a figure in the editorial world of fashion, what do you predict for the evolving future of luxury press?

The democratization of voices in the fashion space - it's already happening thanks to social media, and it's beautiful to see and hear so many new perspectives and voices that would have previously gone unnoticed due to the barriers of entry in traditional spaces.

If you could shop one designer for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?

Christopher John Rogers. Strong silhouettes, bold colors, and unique reference points. I love the world he and his team are building.

How does your background in creative roles inform your personal style and aesthetic?

My background as an advertising writer has greatly informed my personal style and aesthetic. I call myself the "ultimate consumer" because I love to read, watch, listen, see, follow, buy, share, and, then of course, write. But before I can get anything out, I have to take it all in. I've followed my curiosities in each of my jobs that have taken me from the midwest (Iowa City to Chicago) to the south (Nashville to Pawleys Island and now Savannah). In each role, and move, I collaborate with dozens of people with different perspectives which in turn opens my eyes to new ideas and ways of doing things. More is more is more! I've managed to pick up some style cues from each of these places, and I just find more and more things that I like and want to incorporate into my style.

What’s one designer collection that really wowed you?

It's hard to choose just one! I'll select a designer and then name my favorite collections: Miuccia Prada.

  • Miu Miu S/S 2008 - the witchy illustrations by Lisolette Watkins are so fun, and I'll never forget the Leighton Meester Nylon Magazine editorial with the harlequin dress.
  • Prada S/S 2010 - I was 19 when this collection showed, and it's the origin of my first "fashion grail". I bought the chandelier shoes on eBay.
  • Miu Miu S/S 2011 - Like so many millennials, this show was formative. The ditzy daisy-print clogs were my first Neiman Marcus luxury purchase, and I still have them today.
