What does the word "Muse" mean to you?
A Muse’s energy inspires someone to create or think differently about style and influences someone to push their own fashion boundaries.
Formerly a fashion model, how has your immersive background in the industry informed your approach to dress today?
I modeled in my late teens and through my early twenties. Back then, I did not like when clothing didn't fit properly. Since then, I've been a stickler for craftmanship and well-constructed clothing. That is why I especially appreciate the artistry and quality of designs by Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. They're both so skilled at cutting for a woman’s body and accentuating the curves.
Who is your all-time favorite designer?
I would choose Schiaparelli because my motto for everything in life is “Nothing Ordinary,” which is how I dress and what the brand represents. If I don’t feel a thrill when I try on a garment, then it's not for me. Schiaparrelli continues to exhilarate me.
Can you tell us a little more about your blog’s tagline: “Style is a Simple Way of Saying Complimented”?
It's a quote from Jean Maurice Eugène Clément Cocteau, a French writer and artist. How we present ourselves to the world tells people so much about our identity. Fashion is my mode of self-expression, and, in the words of Daphne Guinness, armor in a constantly changing world.
