What does the word "Muse" mean to you?
A Muse is a source of creative inspiration. We all have that certain someone, whether they're from social media, books, magazines, history, or film that inspires us. There is an indescribable, inherent connection that almost makes this person feel like part of your community. Everyone is drawn to a different Muse, and that is the beauty.
Name someone whose style inspires you and should consign their closet on Dora Maar next.
Jeanne Damas has this impeccable French girl chic aesthetic that I love. Also, my style soul-sister, Federica Fanari, is always inspiring me and has the greatest smile on the planet to match, as well as the fabulous Sherri Mcmullen who literally beams with the joy of fashion.
How do you pursue and curate your own personal style amidst the fast-moving trend cycle?
Each season I incorporate some “fashion moments” that would be considered on trend…a shoe, a length of skirt, the silhouette of a dress…but I will never fully adhere to the fast-moving trend cycle. I believe in investing in classics that make you feel great and then adding a little trend here or there to have some fun.
What are some core pieces in your wardrobe you’re reaching for season after season?
1. A great black dress, doesn’t need to the classic LBD, just the go-to piece that always makes you feel great
2. A forever bag like the Celine box bag in a neutral color
3. A standard black blazer to be thrown over anything from a dress to sweats
What’s in your Dora Maar shopping cart?
